Super Sweet Shows This Week

Monday, April 21

Peter Moren (of Peter Bjorn and John), Mercury Lounge, New York
I haven’t heard his solo album, but Peter is a great producer (and also one of the masterminds behind that ubiquitous whistling song that dominated this summer).
She and Him, Hiro Ballroom, New York
Zooey Deschanel + M. Ward= totally awesome times.
Tuesday, April 22
Foals, Ghost, Johnny Brenda’s, Philadelphia
Foals is an awesome dance band. Plus, we’re presenting the show. Join us!
Wednesday, April 23
Mum, Hjaltalin, Gregory and the Hawk, Brooklyn Masonic Temple, Brooklyn
Mum is an awesome Icelandic band. They’re very chill, and probably pretty good live.
Animal Collective, Kria Brekken (ex-Mum), Electric Factory, Philadelphia
ANIMAL COLLECTIVE IS TOTALLY AMAZING LIVE! GO!

Thursday, April 24
Destroyer, Andre Ethier, North Star Bar, Philadelphia
Destroyer is amazing. There is really nothing more to say. Dan Bejar creates some of the most perfect songs ever.
I’m From Barcelona, First Unitarian Church, Philadelphia
There are like 48502745 members of I’m From Barcelona and they sound like a hippie Von Trapp family. They should be interesting live.

Friday, April 25
Black Dice, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Awesome electro-dance music.
American Music Club, Johnny Brenda’s, Philadelphia
Saturday, April 26
The Fiery Furnaces, Southpaw, Brooklyn
The Fiery Furnaces never cease to evolve. Their latest album was a nice pop record with some interesting eccentricities thrown in. I’ve never seen them live, but I’ve heard good things.

Sunday, April 27
South, Maxwell’s, Hoboken
South is an awesome rock band. They’re quite epic. Go see them.
International Noise Conference, PIFAS (1712 N. 2nd Street), Philadelphia
This should be interesting.
Have a great week, everybody!
