The broadcast will include the Bach Choir of Bethlehem’s recordings of “God is my King”, BWV 71, with Phyllis Curtin and David Lloyd among the soloists (1951), the “Mass in B Minor”, BWV 232 (1960), the Motet, “Sing ye to the Lord”, BWV 225, and the Concerto No. 1 in D Minor for Clavier, BWV 1052 (ca. 1961).
The soloist in the D Minor Clavier Concerto is Agi Jambor, and Ifor Jones, who was the Director of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem from 1939 to 1969, is the conductor throughout. The programme will open with other Bach recording rarities made in the United States.
