The Philadelphia Secret Cinema is always ready to provide your with your olden time movie fixes, and on September 26th, at 8PM they will be screening the BIG DOLL HOUSE at the Eastern State Penitentiary.
In keeping with the prison atmosphere, the screening room has steel bars and a prison-themed vibe… plus the film itself, which features a bunch of sexy inmates trying to escape a women’s prison. It’s a thoroughly sleazy, violent tale with plenty of mud wrestling and general jail-time antics.
The Penitentiary is worth a visit all by itself. It dates back to the 1820s, and it influenced the design of hundreds of other prisons. It hasn’t been used as a working prison since 1971, but the likes of Al Capone and Willie Sutton once did their time within its walls, so it’s become a popular tourist attraction and museum.
The film will be projected right inside the main prison building, in a hallway just outside Capone’s cell.
Admission is 10$.
