Greetings from WPRB! It’s about 10:00 PM on the evening of the second day of the 2008 Membership Drive, and we’ve been having a lot of fun as we’re here giving away CDs and DVDs and books and tickets and gift cards and all of our WPRB swag, all over the place. I’ve been on-the-air guest-hosting shows since 6 PM tonight, and it’s been some of the most interesting time I’ve spent here at ‘PRB. Just being able to listen to a solid 6+ hour swath of music that spans just about every genre you can imagine… it’s pretty mindblowing, but you know what? We do it on a regular basis, day in and day out. I think the Membership Drive is not just about fund-raising and supporting the station; for us DJs and staff, it’s about learning just exactly why the station is so valuable and so precious. I’ve had some very interesting conversations with listeners as they call in to pledge, and it’s really been very humbling to hear all the great things people are telling us about what WPRB means to them. Our listeners are after all, the only reason why we’re here!
