Disappearing acts: The making of a vinyl record.

Check this pretty rad video on the last major vinyl plant in the UK, fittingly named “The Vinyl Factory” and filled with some pretty awesomely grimey, steampunk-y equipment that has gotten the job done perfectly for the last fifty-some years. Crazy to think that EMI used to press over a million records a week in this place considering the amount of manual work required.

ALL-VINYL WEEK RETURNS TO WPRB

What’s up, all you peeps out there in WPRB-land?!

We have some good news coming from the offices on the 19th floor of the WPRB Communications Complex. For the first time in five years, WPRB will host ALL-VINYL WEEK. Beginning May 4 and running until May 11, Our CD’s take a backseat to those illustrious polyvinyl chloride disks, and your favorite jocks will spin tunes you know and love and a few you haven’t heard in a while.

There is bound to be special programming that week. Stay tuned to ‘PRB, wprb.com, and this blog for more information about All-Vinyl Week.

Now news from the 20th-floor studios . . .

The baseball broadcast scheduled for this coming Tuesday, April 8, will not be broadcast as originally scheduled. Our apologies for this inconvenience.

WPRB’s resident groundhog, Will Sullivan, has announced Spring’s arrival. For the first time this year, he is wearing something other than a suit to the office.

Until next time, stay classy, and don’t hurt yourselves.
