About Us
News + Culture on WPRB, also known as the station’s News Department, is a group of student producers and journalists who use radio and new media to deliver stories not covered by other media outlets. The department produces a variety of programming each year, including talk shows, news magazines, and interview programs. Topics range from domestic politics and foreign policy to the arts, the sciences, and technology. Former correspondents include Charlie Gibson (ABC), Alan Flippen (New York Times Co.), Scott Gurvey (PBS), John Catlett (Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty), and Kathleen McCleery (PBS). The current News Director is Nikki Leon. If you’re a student interested in getting involved or a listener with a tip for a story, contact us.
